All Parth Sabnis had was an idea; the rest, as they say was crowdfunding history.
The curious case of Chhatrapati Shivaji
Parth wished to introduce a watch designed by him, under his banner ‘The Chhatrapati.’ We are sure, like us, the unique title has peeked your interest too! The entrepreneur is catering to the Maratha pride and has come up with a watch that is designed by drawing inspiration from the great Maharaj, Chhatrapati Shivaji.
The dial of the watch is embossed by the Raj Mudra or the Royal Seal, and the straps are designed to reflect the style of the armours worn by warriors, back in the day. This watch is one among the several styles that Parth and his team members have designed.
When crowdfunding came calling
Parth wished to price the first watch at Rs. 4,000 and needed sufficient funds to work on the prototype and a batch of watches that could give the customers a feel of the product.
As a result, he started a fundraiser on our website and raised Rs 1,15,750, out of Rs. 1,00,000 , through 19 Donors in 66 days!
A scheming move
In order to encourage people to contribute, Parth came up with an interesting scheme. For those who contributed more than Rs 4,000 (set price of the watch) to the fundraiser, were given a preference to get the watch and didn’t have to pay any extra cost. How cool is that! For those who could afford to contribute lesser than that, had to simply pay the difference to get the watch.
