Ahanti’s heart transplant was done in the nick of time, thanks to crowdfunding!

It was a few months ago when things seemed tumbling for Mr. Kuldeep Shahane, as his daughter was diagnosed with the fatal Dilated Cardiomyopathy. Ahanti was just a little girl, but the doctor explained that because the left ventricle had become enlarged, her heart's ability to pump blood decreased drastically.
Ahanti’s condition was a rare case where an urgent heart transplant was the only cure for her.
However, getting her treatment had become too expensive for her father and the estimated cost for Ahanti’s transplant came up to Rs 25 lakh. Ahanti was losing time and something had to be done for her rapidly deteriorating condition. Her father had spoken to trusts constantly and tried desperately to arrange the money needed. Ahanti’s father shared his cause on various platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp, and Instagram and was able to raise 107% of the goal amount.
Today, Ahanti has undergone a successful heart transplant and has been discharged. She is back home where she is taking all the medical precautions advised by the doctor. She has been advised to stay indoors until she recovers completely.
