Living in a humble abode in Andhra Pradesh, Gangasaraswathi and Lakshmi led a satisfactory life despite their financial conditions. When their newborn son joined them in their tiny world, their lives took an uncanny turn.

On 1st May 2021, Gangasarawathi heard her little one’s first cry and then endured 2-3 months of distance from him. Not even a week old and the little champ was suffering from severe sepsis, pneumonia, pneumothorax, RDS, and hypotension.

While Gangasaraswathi spent weeks waiting for Lakshmi to give her the news of return, Lakshmi spent days empty-stomached looking for any signs of improvement in his NICU-bound child in Bangalore.

The hefty costs of ventilation (HFO), IV antibiotics, and NICU rounded up to Rs 9.20 lakh, which were too heavy on the man’s pocket. In the pandemic, he had already lost his job at the book store and had to shut his tea stall, leaving no income stream to rely on. Giving up on their firstborn was although not an option. That is when a kind soul from the hospital helped the man in need and helped him bring his story on ImpactGuru’s platform.

While the little one tussled with ailments and kept going, 1144 ImpactGuru donors held his hand! Within a span of 2-3 months, the baby of Gangasaraswathi’s campaign was shared 431 times and the amount reached Rs 11,53,214!

While I was just hoping for a few lakhs, more than 1000 kind strangers helped me get the treatment for my precious one. Before this fundraiser, I didn’t have an inkling of the kindness that exists in the world. ImpactGuru donors really considered my son their own and showered him with their kindness! ImpactGuru’s team also helped us immensely in the bill payment process, when agony was all that clouded our minds. Thank you so much for saving my little one and our family! Our son is really lucky to have the support of so many beautiful souls!’

- Lakshmi Sreehari, father of the child.

Today, Gangasaraswathi’s champ rests in her arms, healthy and close to her heart. Thank you so much for coming forward and saving the little one time! You have really given this baby a new lease on life! You are truly awesome!
