At ImpactGuru, we have seen our fair share of heart-wrenching stories, but Asunta Ji's journey left an indelible mark on our hearts. At 59 years of age, Asunta Ji experienced a devastating loss, as she lost her husband, her source of living, and her legs had to be amputated. However, despite the odds stacked against her, she remained brave and resilient and got back on her feet.

Asunta Ji and her husband spent decades building a life together, with their unwavering support sustaining them through life's ups and downs. Despite never having children, they had created a family of two and were content with each other.

But fate can be cruel, and the pandemic snatched Asunta Ji's husband away. She was all alone; her once bright world turned grey and dismal. To make ends meet, Asunta Ji started frying chicken for a living.

One fateful day, tragedy struck again when an accident left her with a severe burn injury. The injury ravaged her skin completely, and due to Asunta Ji’s diabetes, recovery was next to impossible. Thus, her doctors were forced to amputate her leg.

But she refused to let her spirit break, and with her unwavering strength, Asunta Ji found solace in an orphanage where she could receive the care and support she desperately needed.

Asunta Ji, however, was not one to give up easily. Despite her crippling injury and the pain that wracked her body, she resolved to rebuild her life; to try and create a new sense of purpose in a world that had taken so much from her.

That's when the doctors suggested a prosthetic leg installment for her to get back to her everyday life. However, the cost of the treatment came with a hefty price tag of ₹5 lakhs that she could not afford.

That is where ImpactGuru comes into the picture. ImpactGuru is a crowdfunding organization that helps people raise funds for various causes, including medical treatment. The NGO committee that looked after Asunta Ji informed us of her situation, and we immediately knew we had to help. We helped her create a fundraising campaign to raise funds for her prosthetic leg.

The response was overwhelming.

Donors from all walks of life stepped up to help Asunta Ji achieve her goal. Our ImpactGuru community's outpouring support and generosity truly amazed us. We have witnessed this happen several times, but it is always a remarkable experience when a community comes together to help someone in need.

Thanks to our donors' kindness and compassion, Asunta Ji raised five lakhs for her treatment, giving her the hope she needed to get back on her feet. It's been three months since her prosthetic leg was fitted. She can walk, exercise, and do all the activities she couldn't do before her surgery.

Rajesh, one of Asunta Ji's closest family friends, sums up his feelings best, "The work that ImpactGuru Donors does is genuinely a virtuous act. Hats off!"

The great Helen Keller once said, "Alone, we can do so little; together, we can do so much." As we reflect on Asunta Ji's journey, we are reminded of the power of community that makes such a difference in people's lives. Together, we can make a difference - one cause at a time.
