A relative survival rate compares women with the same type and stage of endometrial cancer to other women (not suffering from endometrial cancer) in the population. For example, let’s consider that the 5-year relative survival rate for a specific stage of endometrial cancer is 90%. This means that women who are at that stage of cancer are about 90% as likely to survive for at least 5 years after being diagnosed.

The endometrial cancer staging determines the number of cancerous cells in your body. It is one of the most vital factors in deciding how to treat the cancer and how successful the treatment might be.

Endometrial cancer staging ranges from stage 1 through 4. As a thumb rule, the lower the number, the less the cancer has spread. A higher number, such as stage 4, means cancer has spread to other parts of the body. Given below are endometrial cancer cure rates for each stage.

Stage 1

At this stage, the endometrial cancer survival rate is more than 90%. This means 90 out of every 100 women will survive their cancer for 5 years or more after the diagnosis. Most of these women will get cured.

Stage 2

At stage 2, 75 out of every 100 women survive their endometrial cancer for 5 years or more after they are diagnosed. Therefore, the endometrial cancer survival rate at this stage is 75%.

Stage 3

The percentage reduces to 50% as far as stage 3 endometrial cancer life expectancy is concerned. This means around 50 out of every 100 women survive their cancer for 5 years or more after the diagnosis.

Stage 4

This is the final or last stage. The endometrial cancer survival rate is lowest at this stage. Only 15 out of every 100 women (15%) will survive their cancer for 5 years or more if they are diagnosed at this stage.

*The outcome also depends on how far the cancer has spread throughout the body. For example, if the cancer has spread to the bowel and bladder, or perhaps to the lungs, liver, or brain, the endometrial cancer survival rate decreases.

Aggressive Uterine Cancer Survival Rates

A highly aggressive variant of endometrial cancer is known as uterine serous carcinoma (USC). Although it represents less than 10% of all cases, it accounts for a high number of deaths from endometrial cancer. USC carries the poorest prognosis, with 5-year endometrial cancer survival rates as low as 55%.
