Childhood. When we think of the word 'childhood, a plethora of nostalgic memories often come flooding back. We remember the innocence, joy, and incredible imagination we had. All such facets are the foundation of why we celebrate World Children's Day.

Why is November 20 Celebrated as World Children's Day?

The term 'Universal Children's Day' was first coined in 1954 to promote the rights of all children worldwide and to encourage global solidarity among them. The UN assembly then solidified that every year on November 20, we celebrate World Children's Day.

The day is celebrated to remind us that children are the foundation of our future and that we should cherish them, protect them, and provide them with a safe and loving environment to help them reach their full potential.

World Children's Day 2023 Theme: For Every Child, Every Right

Every child is entitled to the protection of their rights and should be able to enjoy life in full, without discrimination or deprivation of any kind. The theme for World Children's Day 2023 advocates just that. We should recognize the rights of all children and ensure that their rights are protected.

On World Children's Day and every day, it is essential to bring the importance of child safety and welfare to the forefront of our minds. To ensure that the children have the best opportunities to grow and thrive, it is essential that, as adults, we put in efforts to provide them with an environment that is inclusive of their mental, physical, and emotional development.

It's 2023, and we still live in a society where the problems faced by children are vast and complex. Millions of children around the nation lack access to basic resources and opportunities. Poverty, lack of education, and unequal access to quality healthcare are a few of the many issues that hinder the growth of our children.

The Healthcare Disparity

According to a study by the World Health Organisation, India ranked second in terms of the highest mortality rate in children under the age of five in 2019. Despite the variety of causes of infant mortality, there is a shared underlying issue - a lack of adequate healthcare services for children.

Resolving Healthcare Disparity Through Crowdfunding

Addressing the pressing issue of inadequate healthcare for children is important. Many families in India face the harsh challenge of being unable to afford necessary medical care for their children. This is where ImpactGuru comes into the picture. ImpactGuru is an online donation-based crowdfunding platform that helps patients raise funds for their expensive medical treatments.

With the help of the ImpactGuru platform, families can launch crowdfunding campaigns, rallying support from their personal network and even strangers to raise money for their chosen cause. This path enables them to gather the necessary funds to cover crucial medical expenses, granting children access to the urgently required healthcare. In this way, ImpactGuru strives to bridge the healthcare gap and foster a healthier future for these children.
