The Gift Of Life: Crowdfunding Helps Baby Govind Win Against Spina Bifida

We had just been blessed with a beautiful baby boy named Govind. However, our joy was short-lived. When Govind was just one month old, we learned that he was suffering from a severe form of Spinal deformity - Spina Bifida Myelomeningocele.

As a father, the sight of the huge tumor in his back was heart-wrenching for us. As the days passed, it continued to grow in size, making it difficult for him to sit or even move. I wish I could take all his suffering because watching him in such pain was unbearable to me. As his parents, we were devastated and didn't know what to do.

We are a simple family from a humble background. As a daily laborer, I barely earned enough to put food on the table. When the doctors told us that our little Govind needed surgery to survive, and that the cost for it was Rs. 16 Lakhs, our hearts were shattered. 

But then…

A glimpse of hope shone through when we came across ImpactGuru - a crowdfunding platform that helps patients raise funds for their treatment . We reached out to them and hoped for the best. Lo and behold, our fundraiser received love from across India, and we were able to raise the necessary funds just in time!

Miracles do happen

Today, it has been two months since Govind's surgery. The tumor, which once loomed like a dark cloud over our little one, has now subsided significantly. The sight of Govind smiling, laughing, and playing around like any other baby fills our hearts with unbridled joy. 

It's an overwhelming feeling of happiness, and we cannot thank the donors enough for giving us this precious gift of life. Our little Govind is now on the road to recovery, and we are beyond grateful to everyone who helped us make this possible.
