This pretty much sums up the life story of our hero, Mohanasunderasan.

This is the extraordinary story of our protagonist, Mohana, a 24-year-old young fellow who resides in the quaint town of Thiruvappur of Pudukkottai City. Just like any other day, he had left for his work in the morning. Life was mundane and uneventful at the quarry until one fateful day changed the course of his life forever. The hero of our story, Mohana, was run over by a lorry on his way to work!

Mohana in his own words:

“I vividly remember the 4th of December. I was returning home from work when tragedy struck. I was just crossing the road when a speeding lorry came down the bypass and hit me. The driver lost control and before I could realize it, I had already lost one leg!”

The Pain of a Mother

Mohana’s mom couldn’t hold it together once she got the call about her son’s accident.

She was grappling with feelings of guilt even though the accident wasn’t her fault. Could she have done something differently to prevent her dear child from such a disaster was the question she was asking herself.

“I rushed to the hospital immediately and nearly fainted on seeing the amount of blood my dear child was covered in!” recalls Kanakambal, Mohana’s mom.

On the doctors’ suggestion, he was admitted to Devadoss Hospital and had to be sent for immediate surgery. All of this was too overwhelming for the entire Senthivel family.

Mohana was the sole bread earner in the family and the very news of his leg removal sent a shudder down his mother’s spine… it was as if their lives were irrevocably altered forever!

His Leg Was Broken but Spirit Was Not Shattered…

Mohana was in utter shock. He was struggling to come to terms with the reality of what had happened to his leg. He was constantly worrying about his aging parents as he was their only support.

There was a deep sense of helplessness; hailing from a lower middle-class family, the enormous financial burden was always weighing heavily on his mind. Who will take care of them, if something happens to him?

Solace in times of grief

It is said that we must never lose hope in times of grief. It can be challenging of course but one mustn’t lose heart. Navigating through the difficult times came with a humongous price tag, something that was unimaginable for the Senthivels.

It was at such a time that Mohana and his family were introduced to ImpactGuru by the hospital staff.

“We finally found solace” is what Mohana would say.

When all doors were closed, ImpactGuru acted as a savior for a battered warrior and provided him with the much-needed financial assistance with which he could afford a prosthetic leg.
