International Volunteer Day is celebrated on the 5th of December every year as an international observance mandated by the UN General Assembly in 1985. It is a day to celebrate and recognize the efforts of volunteers in transforming societies, economies and the environment. This day marks an opportunity to raise awareness and inspire more and more people to volunteer for social causes to create a better future for everyone.
