“I can’t thank the ImpactGuru Donors enough for helping save my son’s life.” - Gayathri
Every child is special to their parents. As a parent, it’s our responsibility to cherish their uniqueness. Every child is uniquely created and requires special parenting. I did not realize my strength until I had to fight for my baby boy Sivarama’s survival right after he came into this world.

How It All Unfolded…
I cannot forget the day when my Sivarama was born. It was a bright, beautiful November day.
The sun was shining, birds were chirping, and we felt prepared. I still remember when Sivarama’s dad and I walked through the doors of the hospital, we both were smiling, oblivious to what lay ahead of us.
Our little one came into the world on the 1st of November, 2021. I was excited and eager to hold him in my arms for the first time. However, our happiness was short-lived. Sivarama was born a month prior to his due date. Hence, he had to be immediately put on the ventilator in the NICU as he was having issues due to the pressure on his lungs. The moment I got to know that the chances of his survival were less, the world seemed to freeze all around me. I struggled to absorb what was just informed to me by the doctors. My mind battled the information, while at the same time, I felt a terrible heartache, something I never experienced before. My dream of holding my baby in my arms was shattered in seconds.
Still, in a state of utter shock and denial, my husband told me that our baby lay motionless in the glass cage, gasping for every breath. With tubes attached to him and machines constantly beeping around him, I couldn’t see him enduring so much pain. I felt as if our baby’s life was slipping away slowly.

I was going through a wide range of emotions which only got worse with each passing day. My husband was my greatest source of strength and support during this entire period. We knew in this dark phase of our lives, we had to fight it out together, as a family. And we didn’t lose hope. My husband diligently went to the hospital whenever the doctor asked him to visit. He could only see our son from a distance. We were told that his body was slowly withering away and his chances of survival would become lesser if his surgery wasn’t done on time.

All’s Not Lost
Me and my husband couldn’t bear the thought of losing our only child. To keep our only son alive, we had to arrange a hefty amount of Rs. 8,62,500. My husband was a priest so the financial burden of our son’s medical treatment was overwhelming.
There’s no denying that the circumstances were tough for us. We could not afford the huge amount that was required for our baby’s treatment. But we never gave up.

The very thought of losing him was terrifying for us. We knocked on every door for help, but they all seemed to be shut. The only door that seemed open for us was ImpactGuru. We were informed that through the power of crowdfunding, they had successfully impacted and saved many lives. So, we chose ImpactGuru to raise funds for our son’s treatment.
They shared the story of our Sivarama with many people. They were like our guardian angels who saved our son from the clutches of danger. When all hopes were lost, the generous donors gave us the strength to conquer our fears. Without their financial help, we wouldn’t have gotten another chance at parenthood. With the blessings of so many donors, our Siva can walk now. Thankfully, post the surgery my son has not had any health problems. He is healthy today. I am really grateful to ImpactGuru for saving our son’s life. We owe everything to them.
