We, at ImpactGuru, are really obsessed with our work. No, we actually are! We take immense pride in our work. At the end of the day, when we lay down in our beds, it’s the sense of fulfillment that helps us sleep better at night. The fulfillment that we are doing our bit to make this world a better place to live in.

1. Auto Driver’s Heartwarming Story Touched Gunjan’s Heart

Auto-rickshaw drivers are the heart of Bombay! While Bombay is the city of dreams, auto rickshaw drivers are the dream-catchers that ensure you never get lost while navigating the roads leading you to those dreams. And one such rickshawwala caught the eye of Gunjan. Gunjan Ratti works as an Operations Associate at ImpactGuru. While scrolling through Instagram, she stumbled upon the story of Desraj Ji. 

74-year-old Desraj Ji’s elder son went missing one day. And after searching for days, Desraj Ji found his son’s dead body in an auto. He left his wife and kids behind. Desraj Ji didn’t even have the time to mourn his son’s death. Shocked, hurt and broken - he didn’t know what to do. However, there was no time to be wasted. He shouldered the responsibility of his daughter-in-law & 4 grandkids and started driving the auto from the very next day. 

His pain didn’t end there, 2 years later his younger son died by suicide leaving Desraj Ji completely broken. His whole family was now dependent upon Desraj Ji. But he didn’t let his granddaughter’s dreams die. When she asked him whether she could pursue her higher education in Delhi, Desraj Ji sold the only roof above his family’s head and sent them back to his village to pay her fees. His auto became his humble abode in this city of dreams.

Gunjan immediately started a fundraising campaign on ImpactGuru for this kind man in hopes of helping him in whatever way she could. Desraj Ji’s story touched millions of hearts and we helped raise more than his goal amount! ImpactGuru was able to help Desraj Ji with Rs. 24,00,000 so that he could fulfill his dream of seeing his granddaughter becoming a teacher one day!

2. Shirley- ImpactGuru’s In-house Cat 

Since our line of work involves being constantly in touch with people who are suffering and are in dire need of our help, we do need a breath of fresh air sometimes to balance it all. And Shirley, the cat, is our breath of fresh air. Whenever ImpactGuru employees go out to take a stroll or a breather, Shirley is always there to greet them with her antics. There’s only two things that Shirley loves doing - playing and sleeping. Either you’ll find her sleeping with no care in the world or you’ll find her having a fun time with ImpactGuru employees. 

It was one of those days when Shirley was playing and she got into a horrible car accident. She was hit badly. The person who hit her fled away and Shirley was left to die. That’s when ImpactGuru employees rushed to help the poor soul. She was left with a broken jaw and legs. We needed Rs. 20,000 to make sure we didn’t lose our Shirley to that terrible tragedy. ImpactGuru employees wasted no time in starting a fundraiser so we could save her before it was too late. And so we did! 

We raised its full goal amount and our Shirley was thankfully rescued. After recovering, she is now back to her naughty tricks and silliness. Now Shirley can proudly say that it was part of running a successful fundraising campaign on ImpactGuru. Shirley now is truly a part of the ImpactGuru family.

3. Nisha’s Gesture To Help The Underprivileged

Nisha is our Social Media Wizard at ImpactGuru and is a force to be reckoned with. She makes sure everybody is in a happy spirit when she is around. She has a heart of gold, she goes out of her way to help people in need. And since she was completing a milestone in her life, she wanted to celebrate her 25th birthday in a special way. She wanted to raise money for a cause that she was deeply touched with. And so she did in true ImpactGuru spirit. 

Sree Sai Krupa Charitable Trust is a non-profit, non-political and secular organization founded by Mr. Shivarudra in 2007. It houses 95 people from all varying age-groups and backgrounds. It includes orphans, senior citizens, women in need and anybody and everybody who needs help.

This charity truly spoke to Nisha and she wrote the donation appeal with all her heart. While she was penning it down, she even shed a tear thinking about people who are in dire need of her help. And subsequently she was able to come to their aid by raising funds for them through ImpactGuru’s platform.
