I remember sitting beside my cousin and casually scrolling through our phones. A scene, I assume, many would be familiar with. When randomly, I saw an ImpactGuru fundraising ad on her Facebook feed. Out of reflex and excitement, I said, “Hey! Look, this is one of the cases I am working on.” All my excitement went south with her response which went something like - “Is this even true? Are these sites even real?” Now, if it was some other situation maybe this would not have offended me to that extent but, since I am the one who worked on that case I for sure know that the fundraising campaigns and the organization are very much genuine. What’s the story behind ImpactGuru?

Incubated at the Harvard Innovation Lab, USA, in 2014, ImpactGuru was born when two changemakers dreamt of making healthcare in India easily accessible and affordable for one and all. It was this vision of Co-founders Piyush Jain and Khushboo Jain, that made the fundraising platform what it is today.

Our Co-founder and CEO Piyush Jain, during his higher studies at Harvard, decided to do his thesis on crowdfunding - a concept that was quickly picking up in the US but not explored quite as thoroughly in India. It was actually the idea of how technology can be used to positively disrupt philanthropy on a very massive scale that led to the inception of ImpactGuru. From there onwards, healthcare became ImpactGuru’s core focus area.

With the vision, passion, and determination of our Co-founders and board members, ImpactGuru began operations in 2015, at a time when crowdfunding was not a term many Indians were acquainted with. ImpactGuru wishes to serve as a platform that ensures accessibility and affordability of the best possible healthcare for every single individual who needs it. We envision an India, where everyone, independent of their financial background, can avail quality secondary and tertiary healthcare, especially in case of a medical emergency or life-threatening illness.

Our values & beliefs are inscribed in our logo; two hearts brought together to form a plus sign (health sign) - to show ImpactGuru’s love for the community and commitment towards saving lives. As we believe that no individual should be deprived of healthcare because of a lack of funds. While the color green represents unity in society, yellow stands for hope and sunshine. And the union of all colors at the center of the plus sign defines our focus on connecting donors and beneficiaries on our platform to change the world, one fundraiser, at a time.
