It's been almost a year since I joined ImpactGuru as a supporter, and I have witnessed countless miracles happen through this platform. 

What drew me to ImpactGuru was their commitment to amplifying every donation's impact. The success stories they have shared on this platform have reassured me that my contribution, regardless of size, makes a meaningful difference. 

Among the countless stories, a story that truly resonates with me is that of Lavanya, a mother of two beautiful children from Telangana. 

This is the story that inspired me to become a donor on ImpactGuru.

A year ago, I came across a video titled "Young Mom Lavanya Needs Heart & Lung Transplant." After watching the video, my first thought was, "How could anyone possibly live without a properly functioning lung and heart?"

The story of Lavanya, a mother of two, was a tragic one. She suffered from a rare condition known as Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH). Despite the difficulty of the situation, Lavanya was surrounded by love. Her daughters, Likitha and Ishwitha, and her husband, all cared deeply for her and wanted her to receive the best possible treatment. But the only way for her to lead a normal life was to get a heart and lung transplant - a treatment worth Rs. 85 lakhs.  

I am a humble man from Mumbai, leading an ordinary life, and working hard to provide a sustained life for my family. As someone who values the importance of being together as a family, I could feel the pain of Lavanya and her family.

Before coming across this video, I didn't know who Lavanya was or how she lived her life till now. But watching that video etched my heart with sorrow and a sense of empathy to want to at least support her with what I can afford.

A Year Later…

I was scrolling through Instagram and came across this post that made me so happy. I was filled with contentment to learn that Lavanya finally received her long-awaited heart and lung transplant and is now resting well at home, with her family beside her. 

A year ago, I had little to no knowledge about crowdfunding but Lavanya's story was the beginning of everything. Her story is what drove me to become a part of ImpactGuru and make a difference in people's lives.

As the saying by Anthony Liccione goes, “Everyone needs a house to live in, but a supportive family is what builds a home.” Lavanya had just that. Lavanya's family was her rock, her support system that kept her pushing to be strong. The warmth of her family and the support of the 20,000+ donors who supported her fundraiser provided Lavanya with the courage to persevere.
