Kajal’s Inspiring Story

Kajal, a 29-year-old mother of two young kids, found herself at a tumultuous turn in her life when she heard the words - "You have cancer”. The first thought that came to Kajal’s mind was “What about her kids? Will they grow up without a mother’s love, protecting them at each step of their lives? What about her husband?” 

And that’s the incredible selflessness of a woman! 

Even at such a crucial phase of her life, where life and death weighed heavily on her mind, she chose to think about her family first. Which is what exactly pushed Kajal to come out stronger and fight this fatal illness with all her might. 

Kajal had to undergo extensive surgery to remove the tumor, during which a part of her tongue was cut-off. The doctors reassured her that she will be able to speak within a few weeks but Kajal longed to talk to her family. Those two months were extremely challenging for her, because not only physically, but Kajal’s family was also struggling financially for her expensive life-saving treatment costs. But they knew she had come too far and they couldn't give up.

Sravanthi’s Brave Journey

Sravanthi and her husband lost their first child at a very young age. This incident left a deep impact on Sravanthi's mental health. Post which, she lost all hope in life and would be consumed by her child’s thoughts all day. 

But when she found out she was pregnant again, her happiness knew no bounds. She chose to slowly build her life again to give a loving environment to her child. 

But when Sravanthi found out that her one-year-old son was fighting a fatal illness called Familial HLH (Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis - a condition where the body produces too many immune cells), her fear skyrocketed. 

To decide to leave all fears behind and stand up strong for her child was a tough journey for Sravanthi. She decided that she will fight for her son and not let anything come between him and his safety.

Shabana’s Fight With Cancer 

Shabana, a brave mother of two, fought blood cancer twice. She was only 26 when she was first diagnosed with blood cancer. The warrior mother that Shabana is, she fought cancer with all her power and might. And she emerged victorious! She walked out of the hospital cancer-free and could be home with her kids after 7 painful rounds of chemotherapy and multiple treatment sessions. 

But after 2 years, her world fell apart when she found out that her cancer had relapsed and the only cure to save her was a bone marrow transplant. It was then that Shabana decided to stand up tall against her disease and fight it with all her power to come out stronger for her family. 

When Shabana was re-diagnosed with blood cancer, there was no source of income in the family since her husband had to stay full-time with her at the hospital. Her husband started a fundraiser on ImpactGuru, an online fundraising company in India, to seek help for his wife.
