An Inspirational Tale Of 1-year-old Ziyan’s Liver Transplant Journey

It was a roller coaster ride- filled with happiness, sorrow, pain, hope, magic, and triumph. This is the story of my son, Ziyan, and how he bravely fought end-stage liver disease. 

The Journey Begins

There are no words to describe the love I felt when I first held my baby Ziyan in my arms. His tiny fingers wrapped around mine, and his innocent eyes gazed up at me, filling my heart with inexplicable happiness. 

However, as Ziyan grew older, my husband and I noticed that he wasn't as active as other children his age. What happened next was nothing less than a nightmare for us. Something that started as occasional discomfort turned into a severe illness that left us devastated and changed our lives forever.

Facing The Unexpected

When Ziyan was just one-year-old, he was diagnosed with end-stage liver disease. His diagnosis shattered our hearts into a million pieces.

I had never imagined that something like this could happen to my Ziyan. My husband and I were completely unprepared for the challenging journey ahead. It was as though I was watching my precious son slip away from me and there was nothing I could do to help him.

The Way Ahead

The doctors informed us that Ziyan's condition had progressed to an advanced stage. The only way to treat it was to replace the damaged liver with a healthy one, so a transplant was the only viable option. 

I was determined to help my son fight his condition at any cost. I was ready to do whatever it took to ensure that he received the best possible care.

Thankfully, I was a perfect match for my son and could donate a part of my liver. However, the cost of the treatment was more than ₹25 lakhs - an amount that seemed impossible for us to gather. Time was running out for my son. 

We had no idea how we would raise the funds in such a short amount of time. We were already struggling to make ends meet and the added medical expenses seemed insurmountable. How would we cross this hurdle?

Today, seeing my son healthy and happy brings tears of joy to my eyes. It's like he has been given a second chance at life, and we will always be grateful for this.
