My Name is Jnaneswara Rao Bammidi, a close friend of Reeta Grace, in coordination with her father Swamy Das, as we come together during the most critical time of her life. Reeta, just 28 years old, is a woman of incredible strength and spirit, and she is currently in the ICU, fighting for her life. Reeta has been living with sickle cell anemia since childhood.
Just days ago, her condition turned critical. A sudden and severe crisis has affected four major organs: the lungs (clots), brain (infarcts), right side of the heart (strain), and bone marrow (platelet collapse). She is on mechanical ventilation at CARE Hospitals, Hyderabad, under the care of Dr. Byreddy Poojitha Reddy, receiving continuous life support and advanced treatment.
There has been some encouraging progress, but continued intensive care is vital in the coming weeks. Her family has already spent over ₹6 lakhs, and the hospital bill has now crossed ₹10 lakhs. With daily ICU expenses exceeding ₹1.5 lakhs and frequent investigations, their savings have been completely exhausted.
It is heartbreaking to stand beside her with hope while the ability to fund that hope runs out. Doctors estimate that her treatment will continue for 6 to 7 more weeks, with projected costs of approximately ₹40 lakhs. We are reaching out in the hope that collective compassion can help ease this unbearable burden on her family.
