“I never imagined that life would take such a sudden turn for my dear husband.” - Reena Verma, wife.
On the 2nd of August, 2025, my husband, a loving father and the only earning member of our family, suffered a severe brain hemorrhage. Our whole lives changed in an instant as our family watched him develop a severe headache followed by extreme anxiety and uneasiness.
The doctors at Livasa Hospital, Hoshiarpur had to give him an emergency surgery where a part of his skull had to be removed to save his life. Neeraj has not regained consciousness ever since. Today, he lies in our home, surrounded by medical equipment, under constant care from a caretaker.
“We pray every day for his recovery, but the journey ahead is long and uncertain.” - Neeraj’s son.
The doctors have advised that once he stabilizes in the next 4–5 months, he will need another surgery to replace the removed skull bone, a surgery that will determine his long-term recovery.

Before this tragedy, our family survived modestly with my husband as the sole earning member. Now, we have borrowed from relatives, mortgaged my jewelry, and relied on donations to manage the mounting medical expenses and already spent around 30 lakh rupees and need around 20 lakh to repay the debt. We need a few lakhs more for my husband’s treatment including his ICU stay, medication as well as his surgery.
