I will never forget the words that my brother-in-law, Yaswanth said to me, “Family means standing together, no matter what.” Those words stuck with me. Now, I watch Yaswanth fighting for his life.
Everything changed on the 7th of January 2025 when he sustained multiple injuries, including to his head. It was soon followed by a severe brain stroke on the 9th of January. He has not regained consciousness ever since. “He has lost most of his cognitive functions,” said the doctors at Wellknox Rehabilitation Center, Hitech City, in Hyderabad.
What is the treatment required?
He has already undergone multiple surgeries but his doctors said, “He is facing complications with protein levels in his brain, the cerebrospinal fluid has to be externally drained and he needs further rehabilitation, medication, as well as physiotherapy.
As we watch him surrounded by machines, fighting to survive, we remember the strength he once had. All we wish is that he gets better soon and lives the life with his family that he always talks about. The road to recovery is long but not impossible.

Yaswanth’s wife works as a nurse staff and they have a 5-year-old child and his retired parents. The treatment cost has taken a toll on the family. They have used up their savings, taken loans from family members, gold loans and even spent around 25 lakh rupees so far. The treatment requires a few more lakhs and now, we turn to you.
