Hello,

My name is Meghna, and I am raising funds for my mother, Savitha K P, who is suffering from Decompensated Chronic Liver Disease, left lung pneumonia, and several other serious complications. She is currently undergoing treatment at Jayadev Memorial Rashtrotthana Hospital and Research Centre, Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Bengaluru, Karnataka.

Over the past days, her condition has become even more critical. Her platelets are fluctuating dangerously, and we are now having to arrange external donor platelets to stabilize her. On top of this, she has been diagnosed with Liver Cirrhosis, and her lung infection still has not cured, despite continuous treatment. The doctors have also confirmed that she is suffering from TB Meningitis, which requires long-term antibiotics that will continue even after discharge. All these diagnoses require extended medical care, regular medications, and constant monitoring, even once she leaves the hospital.

She is still in a very fragile state, and the doctors have warned us that she cannot be taken home even after discharge. Due to her mobility issues and critical condition, we have been advised to shift her directly to a care-home facility until she is stable enough to sit, get up, or walk. We are currently looking for an affordable care home, as the discharge could be as early as the end of this week, but her post-hospital care will continue for months.

The current running hospital bill (as of 11:59 pm, Wednesday) has already reached ₹9.44 Lakhs, and ever since she was shifted to the ward, the bill has been increasing by around ₹30,000 per day. We still don’t know what the final bill will be, but it is certain that it will cross ₹10 Lakhs, possibly much more depending on her condition and the required extensions in treatment.

My mother is a Kannada school teacher, a woman who has dedicated her entire life to teaching and shaping the futures of other people’s children with love and sincerity. She is a single mother who raised me alone after my father tragically passed away in an accident when I was just 14 years old. Every day of her life was spent working, sacrificing, and giving—so that I could have a future.

Now, as she lies in a hospital bed struggling to breathe, fighting multiple organ-related complications, it breaks my heart that I cannot do more. I am a recent graduate, currently unemployed, and our small middle-class family has exhausted every rupee we had on hospital bills, medications, and lifesaving procedures. We are mentally, emotionally, and financially shattered.

The doctors are doing everything possible, but her combination of illnesses—liver disease, lung infection, TB meningitis, dropping platelets, and cirrhosis—requires continuous medication, ICU-level care, specialized antibiotics, and long-term management. Every hour in the hospital costs a huge amount, and we are rapidly running out of both time and money.

She has been my strength all my life. Today, I want to be hers—but I cannot do it alone. With folded hands, I request your kind help, support, and prayers to save my mother’s life.
