My name is Neelima G, and this is the story of my brother, Nikhil—a story that none of us ever imagined we would have to tell.

Just a few months ago, Nikhil was a cheerful, hardworking young man who carried the weight of our family on his shoulders. He had dreams, plans, and the warmth that made our home feel complete. But one day, everything changed.

Now, Nikhil lies in the ICU, connected to machines that breathe for him. Every time we look at him through the glass window, our hearts shatter.

The ICU costs ₹50,000 per day, and the doctors say he needs prolonged intensive care.

We have already spent ₹15,00,000, paying for scans, surgery, medicines, ICU charges… everything we could manage.

But now, his treatment requires ₹9,00,000 more, an amount we cannot possibly afford.

We are a simple working-class family, and these expenses have drained everything we had.

Yet, even in this darkness, we hold on to one thing—

నా పేరు నీలిమా జి. ఇది నా అన్నయ్య నిఖిల్ కథ — మేమెప్పుడూ చెప్పాల్సి వస్తుందని ఊహించని ఒక బాధాకరమైన కథ.

కొన్ని నెలల క్రితం వరకు నిఖిల్ ఒక ఉల్లాసమైన, కష్టపడే యువకుడు. కుటుంబ భారం మొత్తం తన భుజాలపై మోసేవాడు. అతనికి కలలు ఉన్నాయి, లక్ష్యాలు ఉన్నాయి, మా ఇంటిని వెలుగులతో నింపే చిరునవ్వు ఉంది. కానీ ఒక్కరోజులోనే అన్నీ మారిపోయాయి.

తలనొప్పులు, తలనిర్బంధం, ఏకాగ్రత లోపించడం మొదలయ్యాయి. మేము అలసట అనుకున్నాం. కానీ అతని మనసులో మాత్రం ఏదో తేడాగా ఉందని చెబుతూనే ఉండేవాడు. అనేక పరీక్షల తరువాత మా భయంకరమైన నిజం బయటపడింది—

నిఖిల్‌కు మెదడు ట్యూమర్ (Brain Tumor) అని నిర్ధారణ అయింది.

ఆ రోజు నుంచి మా జీవితాలు ఒక భయంకరమైన కలగా మారిపోయాయి. తీవ్రమైన నొప్పితో అతను పోరాడుతుండటం చూస్తూ మేము అశక్తులమయ్యాం. ధైర్యంగా ఉన్నా, ప్రతి గంటకూ అతను మరింత బలహీనమవుతూ పోయాడు.

నవంబర్ 4న, అతనికి పెద్ద మెదడు శస్త్రచికిత్స జరిగింది. అది అతనికి ఉపశమనం ఇస్తుందని మనస్ఫూర్తిగా ప్రార్థించాం. కానీ జీవితం మరో దెబ్బ కొట్టింది—

అతనికి తీవ్రమైన ఊపిరితిత్తుల సంక్రమణ (Lung Infection) ఏర్పడి, స్వయంగా శ్వాస తీసుకోలేని స్థితికి చేరాడు.

ఈ రోజు నిఖిల్ ఐసీయూలో, అతని శ్వాసను యంత్రాలు కొనసాగిస్తున్నాయి. గాజు గోడ వెనుక నుంచి అతన్ని చూసే ప్రతి క్షణం మా గుండెలు పగిలిపోతున్నాయి.

ఐసీయూ ఖర్చు రోజుకు ₹50,000, ఇంకా దీర్ఘకాలిక అత్యవసర చికిత్స అవసరమని వైద్యులు చెబుతున్నారు.

ఇప్పటివరకు స్కాన్లు, శస్త్రచికిత్స, మందులు, ఐసీయూ ఖర్చులు అన్నింటికీ కలిపి ₹15,00,000 ఖర్చు చేశాం — మేము చేయగలిగినంత అన్నీ చేశాం.

కానీ ఇప్పుడు అతని చికిత్స కొనసాగించడానికి ఇంకా ₹9,00,000 అవసరం.

ఈ మొత్తం మాకు పూర్తిగా అందని దూరంలో ఉంది.

మేము ఒక సాధారణ కార్మిక వర్గ కుటుంబం. ఈ వైద్య ఖర్చులు మేము కలిగిన ప్రతిదాన్నీ ఖాళీ చేశాయి.

అయినా కూడా, ఈ చీకటిలో మేము ఒక్కటే పట్టుకొని ఉన్నాం—
