Parenthood is something we had always envisioned together. And the day finally came — five years ago, on 11th August 2020, when our son Saumitran was born.
My name is Preethi, and I am the mother of 5-year-old Saumitran, who is fighting a tough battle with blood cancer. He has been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL) — a fast-growing cancer of the blood and bone marrow, where the bone marrow produces too many immature white blood cells called lymphoblasts.
Saumitran has already completed his chemotherapy and is now ready for a bone marrow transplant, which costs several lakhs of rupees. For this, we need your support.
I work in a private company, and my husband is a cab driver. Since September 2024, our lives have completely changed. We have sold our jewellery, used all our savings, and done everything possible to help our child recover. But doctors at Kanchi Kamakoti CHILDS Trust Hospital, Chennai, have said that a bone marrow transplant is the only way for him to recover fully.

A bone marrow transplant (BMT) can be a life-saving treatment for lymphoblastic leukaemia, especially for high-risk or relapsed cases, as it replaces diseased blood-forming cells with healthy ones from a donor.

Here’s how you can help:
To donate to Saumitran’s treatment, visit ImpactGuru and make a contribution.
