The devastating bike accident
My brother, Praveen Pudi went through a horrible accident on the 27th of October, 2018. His wife and he were run over by a lorry, when they were on their way home in Gachibowli, Hyderabad. She lost her life due to the accident. Additionally, he was in critical care and had to go through multiple surgeries at Continental Hospital, Hyderabad.
Survival came at a huge cost
He is now recovering steadily after having undergone multiple surgeries. However, he woke up to the harsh reality of having lost his left hand. He is trying to recuperate, but normal life is still a long shot away. He cannot even do basic tasks like opening a bottle or getting out of the bed, independently. For someone who has been so used to being independent, it is plain cruel to watch him struggle to grapple with what has become his new reality in life. His recently found career has also been affected a lot by the loss of his left hand.
Life will never be normal for him unless....
The doctors have told us that a prosthetic hand is the only way he has a chance at leading a normal life. Multiple surgeries, intensive critical care, and countless medications later, it hurts me to see him being so close yet so far… he needs a prosthetic hand to be able to even dream of leading a normal life. We have zeroed in on a normal mechanical elbow with i-LIMB hand which will enable him to be able to lead an independent life, again. The cost of the i-LIMB comes up to Rs 15,51,230.
He has come so far and just needs a little more support
He and his wife were the earning members of his family. His physical condition will jeopardize his career unless he gets his prosthetic hand soon. After having spent all our savings on his previous surgeries, there is no money left for his prosthetic surgery. He has his entire life ahead of him an with a little more help from all you kind people, he will be able to get the surgery and have a stable career.
Each contribution from you can bring Praveen closer to being able to lead a normal life. Kindly also share the fundraiser with your family and friends and help us make getting his prosthetic hand a reality. Our belief in your kindness is ever present and we cannot be more grateful for your help so far.
