The 4th of September 2025, is a day I will never forget. It was the day my brother, a fitness trainer and martial arts enthusiast, had a turn of events in his life after facing a severe accident. “Spinal cord injury,” said the doctors at Vasavi Hospitals in Bengaluru.
What troubles my brother?
The accident left him with an injured spinal cord, the inability to move his limbs, hands and feet. He even struggles to breathe or consume food and water!
I will never forget when he said to me, “To become a fitness and business entrepreneur is all I want.”
I know that my brother has the strength to fight but I want him to know that he is not alone. He has the support of so many kind souls. He deserves to chase the future that he has been dreaming of his whole life.
How can he heal?
The doctors have recommended neurosurgery implants and physiotherapy. The journey forward won’t be easy but it will be worth it.
The treatment comes at a hefty cost but my brother needs a few lakhs more. With our father working as a fisherman, our sister as a software engineer and my job as a quality inspector in engineering, we have been doing our best to manage the funds needed.
From spending around 2. 5 lakh rupees to other expenses around 4 lakh rupees, my brother still needs help.
The doctors have mentioned, “A long process is required for his complete recovery. It may range from 6 months to even a year.” “Everything depends on the treatment and how he fights toward recovery.”
