‘The past 11 years of my life have been like a blessing. Meghal, my daughter, turned 11 on 15th November. This year we couldn’t celebrate her birthday, instead we were just hoping and praying for her recovery.’
Life does change in an instant. One moment, my daughter was enjoying her golden days of hostel life, and the next moment, we received a call, “Your daughter has fallen down from the stairs”. I still remember the feeling when I went numb after hearing that phone call, says Kantibhai Babariya, a father of Meghal.
What has happened to Meghal?
Meghal was studying in a hostel at Delwada, Gujarat. Around two months ago, she accidentally fell down the stairs in her hostel. At first, it seemed like a minor injury, and her family believed she would recover soon.
However, a few days later, Meghal started noticing blood in her urine, and her health began to worsen rapidly. Her concerned parents took her to many hospitals in Baroda and Rajkot, where, after several tests, doctors confirmed that Meghal had suffered from severe kidney damage.
What treatment does Meghal require?
Meghal has been receiving treatment at Aalok Orthocare, Vidyavihar Colony, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Doctors are trying everything in their power to save Meghal’s kidney, but she needs round-the-clock monitoring in the hospital with continuous doctor support.
