Please Help Save My Daughter Maheen’s Life

My name is Akil Ahmad Sheikh, and I am the father of a brave little girl named Maheen. I’m doing everything I can to save her life.

Maheen has been diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type 2 — a rare and life-threatening genetic disorder that causes progressive muscle weakness. It is slowly taking away her ability to move, stand, and even breathe on her own.

But there is hope and that hope lies in a treatment called Spinraza.

Spinraza is a lifesaving medicine that can slow the progression of SMA and give Maheen a real chance at life. But the cost is overwhelming.

• Each dose of Spinraza costs around ₹87 lakh
• The total cost for the first year, including multiple doses, can run into ₹7 crores

This amount is far beyond what I, as a middle-class father, can afford. But I refuse to give up on my daughter. She deserves a chance to live, laugh, and grow up like any other child.

Watching Maheen grow weaker day by day is a pain no parent should ever experience. And yet, I still believe in miracles — and I believe that your kindness could be that miracle.
