No father is ever ready to see his daughter fight for every breath. My daughter, Madhushree, only 32 years old, is lying in Manipal Hospitals, Old Airport Road, Bengaluru. On 12th August 2025, she was admitted in a critical condition with severe shock. She needed the highest level of life support.
Despite intensive treatment, her condition worsened. Doctors had to put her on ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation), a machine that takes over the work of the heart and lungs when they fail. She also underwent Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) because her blood had too much acid due to kidney failure.
Even when ECMO was removed successfully, her health slipped again. She needed multiple strong medicines, advanced antibiotics like Meropenem, Teicoplanin, and later Polymyxin, and ventilator support to breathe. The infection spread to her lungs, causing ARDS (Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome). She had to be placed on prone ventilation, face down, just so her lungs could get enough oxygen.

I still remember holding her hand and whispering, “You’re stronger than this, my child. Keep fighting.” She couldn’t respond, but I know she could hear me.
Today, she is doing better than before, but the struggle isn’t over. She still needs CRRT (dialysis), and the doctors say she may need it for the next 1 to 1½ months. The urgency is real, without this, her kidneys cannot function.
We are a small family, just me, my wife, and Madhushree. I work as a gardener with a humble income annually. So far, we’ve somehow managed through personal loans and small donations. We’ve already spent about Rs. 14 lakhs and we are drowning in debt. We haven’t sold land or gold, because we don’t have any. But the treatment ahead will still cost lakhs more, and we cannot manage it alone.

We live in Kaggadasapura, Bangalore, and every day I travel back and forth, praying that she holds on. I watch her fight infections, survive with machines, and struggle for a chance at life. She is 32. She deserves a future.
“Hope is what keeps us alive when everything else falls apart.” Today, my hope rests in your kindness. Please help me continue her treatment at Manipal Hospitals. Your contribution will go directly to saving my daughter’s life. Please help!
