My name is Vinay L, and I am writing to ask for your support to help save my 12-year-old son, Jayakeshavan Pandith.
On June 1st, 2025, Jayakeshavan met with a terrible accident when he was run over by a tractor. The accident caused serious injuries.
He has multiple fractures in his pelvic area, which is the part of the body between the stomach and the legs.
He also suffered a bladder neck injury, which affects how urine passes out of the body, and a recto-vesicular fistula, which is an abnormal connection between the bladder and rectum (the organs that store urine and stool).
Jayakeshavan is now admitted in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Manipal Hospital, Old Airport Road, Bengaluru. So far, he has gone through two emergency procedures:
- A suprapubic cystostomy, where doctors made a small opening in his lower belly to help him pass urine.
- A laparoscopic sigmoid colostomy, where doctors created a new way for stool to leave the body safely.
“These surgeries were necessary to avoid life-threatening infections and relieve pressure on his injured organs.” - Consultant
Doctors are closely watching his condition. If the bladder and rectum injuries do not heal naturally within 2–3 weeks, he will need another major surgery to fix the bladder and remove the abnormal connection between the bladder and rectum.
The total treatment cost is estimated at tens of lakhs, which includes surgeries, PICU stay, and 5–7 days of additional hospital care. We have already used up all our savings.
