Life was simple, warm, and filled with laughter.
My mother, Geeta Saha, and I have always been each other’s safe space — best friends who shared everything, from morning tea talks to late-night dreams. She’s been my constant source of strength, my comfort zone, my home. But today, everything has changed.
My name is Geetika Saha, and I am raising funds for my beloved mother, Mrs Geeta Saha, who is fighting for her life after suffering from a brain haemorrhage along with Moyamoya Disease. She is currently in the ICU, under critical care in Bengaluru.
A few days ago, she suddenly became unresponsive and collapsed around 4:30 p.m. We rushed her to the hospital, where doctors revealed the devastating truth — she has a right thalamic and panventricular haemorrhage (a severe brain bleed) with hydrocephalus (fluid buildup in the brain). The CT scan also showed subarachnoid haemorrhage and small vessel disease, all of which make her condition extremely fragile.
Today, my mother lies unconscious, her body weak, and her future uncertain. Doctors have explained that her condition is critical and time-sensitive. She is being monitored round-the-clock in the ICU with neurosurgical observation and medications to manage brain swelling, blood pressure, and other complications. If her condition worsens, she may need surgical intervention to relieve pressure on her brain.
Despite doing everything I can — using our savings, borrowing from relatives, and cutting down on every possible expense — the medical bills keep rising. So far, we have spent over ₹1.5 lakh, and the doctors estimate that we will need another ₹7–8 lakh or more, depending on her progress and ICU stay.
My mother is a kind human and loving homemaker who has always put her family first. She dreams of one thing — to open her eyes again, to see me, and to live peacefully with me as she always did.
