Vikram’s eyes have always been full of life. His laughter filled our home. He was learning to explore the world by running around, playing, climbing, and doing what children his age do. Then, in one terrible moment, everything changed.
While playing, Vikram fell down the stairs. It was all so unexpected and happened so fast. At barely 1 year old, he hit his head and I still remember the sound of his cry, one that I had never heard before. We rushed him to Rainbow Children’s Hospitals & BirthRight, Marathahalli, Bengaluru, praying he would be okay.
The doctors told us our worst fear, “Vikram had suffered polytrauma with severe traumatic brain injury.”
That night, I watched my little boy lying in the PICU fighting for his life with pain he never asked for. Seeing machines and wires around your child is a pain no parent should ever feel. On 26th November, doctors performed emergency brain surgery to save his life.
As of now, he is back home, on medication, and we take him for daily follow-up visits. But my son’s journey is far from over…
The doctors have clearly told us that another brain surgery is needed next month for his continued recovery. This surgery, along with hospital care and continued treatment for his recovery costs us lakhs.
As a driver, I am trying my best to make ends meet. We have used all our savings, sought help from relatives, and borrowed money from friends. So far, we have already spent ₹6 lakhs. With only hope left, I pray that my son gets to recover.
I want to give him a life where he no longer has to suffer or cry in pain. I cannot bear to see him in bandages instead of laughing and playing around. As a father, this is my only ask. Help me save my little boy. Your generosity is a blessing.
