Sonu Beniwal is 36 years old and has been fighting End-Stage Interstitial Lung Disease since 2020. Over the last 5-6 years she has spent everything she had while trying to keep her condition under control, but things have now reached a point where treatment can’t wait any longer.
Right now, Sonu is hospitalized at KIMS, Secunderabad. Her lungs are functioning so poorly that she depends on BiPAP, Nasal Prongs, and HFNC support with an oxygen requirement of 10–15 liters just to keep her levels stable. She is dealing with severe breathlessness, dangerously high carbon dioxide in her body, and very low oxygen saturation. She can’t carry out any physical activity at all.
Doctors have made it clear: only a Bilateral Lung Transplant can save her. Nothing else will help at this stage, and the transplant has to happen as soon as possible.

Sonu lives in a small 2-member family with her husband. She previously worked in a Government job in Rajasthan, but her health forced her to stop. Her husband had a job in Mumbai, but he resigned in 2023 to provide Sonu round-the-clock care. There is no earning member left in the family now.
They’ve managed everything so far through their salaries, savings, and support from the State Government health scheme. They even had to use their gold jewellery to cover medical costs. They don’t own any land. Across 6 years, more than ₹40 lakhs have already gone into treatment, tests, hospital stays, and emergency care. But to survive, Sonu now needs around ₹90 lakhs more for the transplant and the critical post-operative care that follows.

Here’s the thing. Sonu isn’t just fighting for herself. Her dream, once she recovers, is to guide other patients battling lung diseases. She wants to use her own experience to help people who feel lost in a world of hospitals, medicines, and uncertainty. She hopes to stand beside those who don’t know where to begin.
Her story needs more people to hear it. If you can share it with your friends and family, it will help her reach the support she urgently needs.
