My name is Priya Suresh, and I am raising funds for my mother, Mrs Sitalakshmi Suresh (58), who is fighting for her life due to end-stage lung failure caused by severe Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) with Pulmonary Fibrosis.
My mother was diagnosed with ILD with pulmonary fibrosis in April 2023. Since then, we have lived through countless hospital visits, treatments, and moments of hope. Despite continuous medical care, her lungs have progressively lost their ability to function. Since August 2025, she has required repeated hospitalisations, and today, she is in critical condition, dependent on continuous oxygen and ICU-level care.
For months now, my mother has been struggling to breathe. Simple activities like speaking, eating, or sitting up leave her breathless. Her oxygen levels drop dangerously without support, and her body is extremely weak. Her lungs can no longer function on their own.
She is currently admitted at Jupiter Hospital, Thane, under the care of the Transplant and Critical Care team. Doctors have made it very clear that ECMO (artificial lung support), followed by a lung transplant, is the only way to save her life. She has been advised to undergo a lung transplant at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre, Mumbai, and must remain under constant ICU monitoring until a suitable donor becomes available. Any delay could be life-threatening.
My mother may require prolonged ICU and ventilator support both before and after the transplant. The road ahead is long, uncertain, and overwhelming.
She has already endured Severe and persistent breathlessness, continuous dependence on oxygen, extreme fatigue and weakness, inability to walk or perform daily activities, and recurrent respiratory distress episodes.
We have already spent many lakhs on hospitalisations, ICU care, oxygen support, medications, and investigations. The costs have escalated rapidly, and we can no longer manage this alone.
We now urgently need help to cover the remaining treatment. Every day, the rising medical bills feel heavier than the last. Without timely financial support, my mother will not be able to receive a transplant.
All my mother dreams of is to breathe on her own again, regain her strength, and return home to live a peaceful life with her family, without tubes, machines, or constant fear.
