At an age when we should be planning our future, building dreams, and celebrating life together, we are instead fighting a battle we never imagined. My husband, Ram is only 31, with a background in farming and a heart full of love for his family and our little children.
Everything changed in December. It began with dizziness which soon turned into ascites (fluid accumulation in the abdomen), abdominal pain, very high bilirubin levels (yellowing of eyes), swelling in his feet. We were soon given the heartbreaking news that Ram has been diagnosed with a fatty liver condition, Chronic Liver Disease.
It has been slowly weakening his body, taking away his strength. He even faces severe liver infection, acute kidney infection and gastrointestinal bleeding.
He needs an urgent liver transplant and treatment to control the infection that doctors at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi have recommended.
For as long as I have known him, Ram is a kind, hardworking man who has always taken care of everyone around him. The sole earner of the family and a great father to our 7-year-old daughter and 1-year-old son. But now, watching him struggle with pain, fatigue, and the unknown future is a fear that haunts our world. There are nights when he tries to stay strong for me, and nights when I cry silently, so afraid of losing him.
As his wife, all I want is to see him healthy again, to share simple moments, to laugh without worry, dream about our future and live a normal life together. But the cost of a treatment is far beyond what we imagined.

We have spent through credit cards and borrowing, sold farming land and gold from our wedding, and even spent over 2 lakh rupees. But, we still need lakhs more.
