I held her in my arms and kept kissing her forehead. I whispered gently into her ears, “Your mumma will always protect you from any danger.”
I wish to fulfil that promise to my daughter….

My name is Lalita. On 27th May 2025, my daughter Maahi was born. She is 8 months old today. “Maahi, look what Mumma has got for you,” I would say, and she would turn her head and start giggling. She is my world. I want nothing more than to see her healthy and happy. But life doesn’t always give you the best of the things you want, does it?
Maahi has been diagnosed with Malignant Rhabdoid Tumour of the right kidney. This is a rare, highly aggressive childhood cancer, typically diagnosed in young children. It is characterised by rapid growth, early metastasis, and a poor prognosis, often linked to genetic changes in the SMARCB1/INI1 gene.
She often experiences loose motions, and her body has become very weak. I couldn’t believe it when the doctors said it was cancer. We were not ready to face this storm when all we wanted was to see our child grow up healthy and happy.
Chemotherapy treatment has already started for my baby girl. She has completed 3 chemotherapy cycles. Doctors at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi, have advised nine more cycles of chemotherapy for Maahi to fight cancer.
Imagine your baby going through the pain of back-to-back chemotherapy cycles. My heart skips a beat every time I think about the excruciating pain she must be feeling at such a fragile age, and yet not being able to express it.

Maahi’s ongoing treatment is extremely crucial. Doctors have advised regular follow-up care, monthly ultrasound scans, a whole-body MRI every three months, and continuous monitoring until Maahi reaches the age of five years.
Today, I am reaching out to you with a heart full of hope and fear. I need your immediate help to give my baby the future I wished for. Maahi’s treatment costs us lakhs. I humbly request you to come forward and help Maahi continue her treatment. This journey is long, but with your support, nothing seems impossible.

Here’s how you can help my little girl continue her treatment:
- Visit Maahi’s fundraiser page on ImpactGuru and make your donation.
- Share her story with as many people as you can to reach more kind hearts willing to help.
