My name is Shivani Patankar, and I am reaching out with a humble plea to save my husband, Dhanraj Belvalkar, who is just 31 years old. We live together in Panvel, Maharashtra, and are going through one of the most challenging times of our lives.

About the Patient

Dhanraj has recently been diagnosed with Atrial Septal Defect (ASD) — a condition where there is a hole in the wall (septum) separating the two upper chambers of the heart. This defect causes abnormal blood flow and puts immense strain on his heart and lungs. Doctors at Apollo Hospital have advised urgent open-heart surgery to repair the hole and prevent further complications that could become life-threatening if left untreated.

For the past few weeks, Dhanraj has been on continuous medication and medical observation. Despite his young age and strong willpower, his condition has made daily life extremely difficult. Simple activities like walking or climbing stairs have become exhausting for him.

A Wife’s Plea

We have already spent around ₹1,20,000 on his tests, consultations, and medicines by using our small savings and taking loans. However, the surgery and post-operative care are expected to cost another ₹8,00,000, which is far beyond our financial capacity. As his wife, it is heartbreaking to see him suffer, knowing that proper treatment can give him a new chance at life.

प्रिय दयाळू अंतःकरणांनो,

रुग्णाविषयी माहिती

धनराज यांना अलीकडेच एट्रियल सेप्टल डिफेक्ट (ASD) या हृदयाच्या गंभीर आजाराचे निदान झाले आहे. या आजारात हृदयाच्या वरच्या दोन कप्प्यांदरम्यान असलेल्या भिंतीत (सेप्टम) एक छिद्र तयार होते, ज्यामुळे रक्तप्रवाह असामान्य होतो आणि हृदय व फुफ्फुसांवर मोठा ताण येतो. अपोलो हॉस्पिटल, येथे डॉक्टरांनी तातडीने ओपन हार्ट सर्जरी करण्याचा सल्ला दिला आहे, जेणेकरून हे छिद्र बंद करता येईल आणि भविष्यात उद्भवणाऱ्या जीवघेण्या गुंतागुंती टाळता येतील.

गेल्या काही आठवड्यांपासून धनराज सतत औषधोपचार घेत आहेत आणि वैद्यकीय निरीक्षणाखाली आहेत. त्यांच्या तरुण वय असूनही आणि मजबूत इच्छाशक्ती असतानाही, आजारामुळे त्यांचे दैनंदिन आयुष्य अत्यंत कठीण झाले आहे. चालणे, जिने चढणे यांसारख्या साध्या गोष्टींसाठीही आता त्यांना खूप त्रास सहन करावा लागत आहे.

पत्नीची विनंती

आम्ही आधीच ₹१,२०,००० त्यांच्या तपासण्या, औषधे आणि सल्लामसलतींसाठी खर्च केले आहेत. ही रक्कम आम्ही आमच्या छोट्या बचतीतून आणि कर्ज घेऊन भागवली आहे. मात्र, आता शस्त्रक्रिया आणि त्यानंतरच्या उपचारांसाठी ₹10,00,000 इतकी रक्कम आवश्यक आहे, जी आमच्या आर्थिक क्षमतेच्या पलीकडे आहे. पत्नी म्हणून माझ्यासाठी त्यांना या अवस्थेत पाहणे अत्यंत वेदनादायक आहे, विशेषतः जेव्हा मला माहित आहे की योग्य उपचार मिळाल्यास ते पुन्हा निरोगी होऊ शकतात.
