I am raising funds for my father Mr Dipu Saikia, who is currently admitted in a hospital and undergoing treatment for a critical heart condition along with a severe lung infection.
My father is the sole earning member of our family. He runs a small hardware shop, which is our only source of income. We belong to a lower middle-class family, and there is no other earning member. I am a student, and my younger sibling is still in school. Our entire family depends on my father.
Last month, my father was hospitalized due to breathing difficulties and was discharged after treatment. Unfortunately, his condition worsened again, and he had to be rushed back to the hospital. This time, doctors diagnosed him with severe coronary artery disease with nearly 90% blockage, putting him at high risk of a heart attack, along with a serious lung infection (empyema) that required ICU/CCU care, drainage, and strong IV antibiotics.
Recently, doctors performed an angiography, which confirmed that he will require multiple stents (around 4) once the infection is fully controlled and his condition stabilizes. Due to the ongoing infection and low hemoglobin levels, the doctors have advised a short waiting period before proceeding with the stent procedure to ensure it can be done safely.
So far, we have already spent around ₹3 lakhs on hospital bills using our savings and help from close relatives. However, the medical expenses continue to rise due to prolonged hospitalization, ICU/CCU care, medicines, investigations, and the upcoming heart procedure. The total estimated cost of treatment is expected to go up to ₹7–8 lakhs, which is far beyond our financial capacity.
We are struggling to manage these expenses and are now seeking help to ensure that my father receives the life-saving treatment he urgently needs.
The funds raised will be used for:
- ICU/CCU hospitalization charges
- Treatment of lung infection and empyema
- Medicines and investigations
- Blood transfusions and supportive care
- Upcoming heart stent procedure and post-procedure care
