My wife and I had never expected that our baby would come into the world so soon. The 14th of August 2025 was a tough day. We watched our little angel with her tiny hands and feet, struggling to breathe and weighing just 950 gms. I looked at my wife and said to her, “I promise we will get our baby home as soon as she is healthy enough.”
What troubles my baby?
At barely 3 weeks old, my daughter is struggling to take her first breaths and faces premature birth-related complications. She was born through a C-section and needs a mechanical ventilator to survive.
Her doctors suggest, “Your baby requires a stay in the NICU for the next 8 weeks.” “As of now, she is on BiPAP support in the Rainbow Children's Hospital and BirthRight, Hyder Nagar, Kukatpally, Hyderabad.
How does the treatment work?
A NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) stay for a newborn can last anywhere from a few hours to several months, depending entirely on the baby's health condition, prematurity, and complications. My baby also needs ventilator support with oxygen through pipes, further observation and an upcoming PDA test.
The treatment is costly. I work as a trainer in an e-commerce company and so far, we have already used up our savings, sold gold and spent around 5 lakh rupees through insurance and 6 lakh rupees from our personal funds. We still need lakhs more before we can bring our baby girl home.
As her doctors wait for her to gain weight, my baby remains under observation. I only hope that during this time, your support for my angel shines through. Please lend a helping hand and donate to help my angel grow up.
