At just 47 years old, she never imagined her life would be circled around hospital corridors, blood tests and constant weakness. This is the story of Anitha Nair. A homemaker from Pune. Anitha has always been kind and generous, spending her life caring for her family, prioritising their needs before her own. Today, she is fighting a battle she never saw coming.
As per the report from Dr D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre, Pune, Anitha is suspected to have Hilar Cholangiocarcinoma, a rare and aggressive cancer affecting the bile ducts near the liver. What began as subtle discomfort soon turned into alarming symptoms like yellowing of the eyes, relentless itching, extreme fatigue, and rapid weight loss. Each passing day became harder, not just physically, but emotionally.
Currently, her condition remains fragile. Her bilirubin levels are dangerously high, preventing the Oncology team from initiating definitive cancer treatment.
Doctors are working carefully to stabilise her health first. She is under constant medical supervision and is being treated with antibiotics to control infection and multivitamins to improve her haemoglobin levels, while doctors monitor her closely and prepare for the next crucial steps.
In Anitha’s family, her elderly father-in-law, who suffers from advanced dementia and requires round-the-clock care. Since August 2025, the family has had no source of income, as her husband was forced to stop working to care for his father and now his wife.
Until July 2025, the family survived on a modest annual income. Today, there is nothing left. Medical bills have already piled up in lakhs. The family has no savings left.
Yet, even in the face of uncertainty, Anitha believes in the kindness of strangers and miracles. She dreams of getting better, of returning home, of living a normal, healthy life. Doctors have advised that her treatment is urgent, and it should be done without any delay. Please come forward to help Anitha heal.
