What started as a simple fever soon became a nightmare we never imagined. In December 2025, our lives changed forever when Abdul was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, an aggressive blood cancer.
Watching my little boy, at just 11 years old, go through chemotherapy, feeling weak, losing his energy, and lying in a hospital bed breaks me every day. This isn’t the life we imagined for him. Abdul should be in school, learning and playing with his friends. But, he sees hospital rooms instead of classrooms.

The doctors at Sri Shankara Cancer Foundation, Bengaluru said to us, “He needs 6 to 7 chemotherapy cycles, intensive chemo for 4 to 5 months, continued medical observation, supportive care, hospitalization, as well as continued treatment.”
I am the sole earner of our family of 6. My wife and children depend on me for our livelihood. For Abdul’s treatment we have been managing funds through personal savings, sought help from relatives but the treatment has to continue for months.
