My name is Dipankar Ghosh, and I am 53 years old. I live in Kolkata with my wife. What I thought would be a peaceful phase of life has turned into a constant battle for survival.
Three years ago, I was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and have been undergoing dialysis three times a week ever since. Doctors have told me that a kidney transplant is the only permanent solution.
A year ago, I suffered a cardiac arrest, and although doctors managed to save my life, my health has remained fragile. Recently, I developed pleural effusion, where fluid accumulated around my lungs and caused them to contract, making it difficult to breathe. This complication has returned after first occurring following my cardiac arrest.
Because of these medical complications, my doctors are waiting for my body to recover before performing the transplant. Meanwhile, I am trying to arrange the funds needed for this life-saving surgery.
For the past 30 months, I have been unable to work. My wife left everything behind to care for me full-time, leaving us with no source of income. We have already spent nearly ₹15 lakh on dialysis, hospitalizations, and treatments, exhausting all our savings.
Despite everything, I still dream of recovering, starting a small business, and rebuilding our lives.

আমার নাম দীপঙ্কর ঘোষ। আমার বয়স ৫৩ বছর। গত তিন বছর ধরে আমি দীর্ঘস্থায়ী কিডনি রোগে (CKD) ভুগছি এবং সপ্তাহে তিন দিন ডায়ালিসিসের ওপর নির্ভর করে বেঁচে আছি। চিকিৎসকদের মতে, কিডনি প্রতিস্থাপনই আমার একমাত্র স্থায়ী সমাধান।
এক বছর আগে আমার কার্ডিয়াক অ্যারেস্ট হয়েছিল। সম্প্রতি আবার ফুসফুসে পানি জমে (Pleural Effusion) শ্বাসকষ্ট শুরু হয়েছে। এই জটিলতার কারণে চিকিৎসকরা আমার শরীর পুরোপুরি স্থিতিশীল হওয়ার অপেক্ষায় আছেন, যাতে নিরাপদে প্রতিস্থাপন করা যায়।
গত ৩০ মাস ধরে আমি কর্মহীন। আমার স্ত্রী আমার দেখাশোনার জন্য সবকিছু ছেড়ে দিয়েছেন। চিকিৎসায় ইতিমধ্যে প্রায় ₹১৫ লক্ষ খরচ হয়ে গেছে, আর আমাদের সমস্ত সঞ্চয় শেষ।
