When Sukriti was just three and a half years old, what we thought was a stubborn fever turned into every parent's worst nightmare. For almost a month, she suffered from constant high-grade fevers, and her haemoglobin and platelet counts kept dropping. On Christmas Day, December 25, 2024, we heard the words no parent is ever prepared for, our little girl had B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (B-ALL). Since then, our days have revolved around hospital rooms, blood tests, painful procedures, and endless prayers. Just when we hoped the worst was behind us, her reports showed a very early relapse. The doctors immediately advised two cycles of salvage chemotherapy and immunotherapy, followed by radiation therapy and an urgent bone marrow transplant. Sukriti has completed the chemotherapy and is now courageously undergoing radiation. If her reports remain favourable, the transplant must happen within days.
She is only five years old, yet she has endured more pain than most people face in a lifetime. Still, she smiles, plays whenever she finds the strength, and reminds us every day why we cannot give up. The doctors have given us only three weeks to prepare for her bone marrow transplant, and we are doing everything we can to save her.
As parents, we don't dream of anything extraordinary anymore. We just want to see our daughter healthy again, to watch her run, laugh, go to school, and grow up like every other child. That simple dream now depends on whether we can get her the treatment she urgently needs.

सुकृति जम्मा साढे तीन वर्षकी हुँदा, हामीले सामान्य जिद्दी ज्वरो ठानेको समस्या हरेक अभिभावकका लागि सबैभन्दा डरलाग्दो दुःस्वप्नमा परिणत भयो। करिब एक महिनासम्म उनी लगातार उच्च ज्वरोबाट पीडित भइन् र उनको शरीरमा हेमोग्लोबिन तथा प्लेटलेटको मात्रा निरन्तर घट्दै गयो। सन् २०२४ को क्रिसमसको दिन (डिसेम्बर २५), हामीले ती शब्दहरू सुन्यौं जसका लागि कुनै पनि अभिभावक तयार हुँदैनन्—हाम्री सानी छोरीलाई 'बी-सेल एक्युट लिम्फोब्लास्टिक ल्युकेमिया' (B-ALL) भएको पत्ता लाग्यो। त्यसयता हाम्रा दिनहरू अस्पतालका कोठा, रगतको जाँच, पीडादायी उपचार प्रक्रिया र अनवरत प्रार्थनामा बितिरहेका छन्। जब हामीले सबैभन्दा कठिन समय पार गरिसक्यौं भन्ने सोचेका थियौं, तब उनको रिपोर्टमा रोग फेरि बल्झिएको (relapse) देखियो। डाक्टरहरूले तुरुन्तै 'साल्भेज केमोथेरापी' र 'इम्युनोथेरापी' का दुई चरणहरू, त्यसपछि 'रेडिएसन थेरापी' र तत्काल 'बोन म्यारो ट्रान्सप्लान्ट' गराउन सुझाव दिए। सुकृतिले केमोथेरापी पूरा गरिसकेकी छिन् र अहिले साहसका साथ रेडिएसन गराइरहेकी छिन्। यदि उनको रिपोर्ट राम्रो आयो भने, केही दिनभित्रै ट्रान्सप्लान्ट गर्नुपर्ने हुन्छ।
उनी जम्मा पाँच वर्षकी छिन्, तर उनले जीवनभरमा मानिसले भोग्ने पीडाभन्दा धेरै पीडा सहिसकेकी छिन्। तैपनि, उनी मुस्कुराउँछिन्, शक्ति हुँदा खेल्छिन् र हामीलाई हरेक दिन सम्झाउँछिन् कि हामीले किन हार मान्नु हुँदैन। डाक्टरहरूले हामीलाई उनको बोन म्यारो ट्रान्सप्लान्टको तयारीका लागि जम्मा तीन हप्ताको समय दिएका छन्, र हामी उनलाई बचाउन सक्दो प्रयास गरिरहेका छौं।
अभिभावकको रूपमा, हामी अब कुनै असाधारण कुराको सपना देख्दैनौं। हामी केवल आफ्नी छोरीलाई फेरि स्वस्थ देख्न चाहन्छौं—उनलाई दौडिएको, हाँसेको, विद्यालय गएको र अन्य बालबालिका जस्तै हुर्केको हेर्न चाहन्छौं। त्यो सामान्य सपना अब यस कुरामा निर्भर गर्दछ कि हामी उनलाई तत्काल आवश्यक पर्ने उपचार दिलाउन सक्छौं वा सक्दैनौं।
उनको जीवन बचाउने क्यान्सरको उपचार र औषधिको खर्च लाखौं पुगिसकेको छ। छोरीको ज्यान बचाउन मैले र मेरो परिवारले हाम्रा सम्पूर्ण आर्थिक स्रोतहरू खर्च गरिसकेका छौं, तर त्यो पर्याप्त छैन; जीवन बचाउने उपचारलाई निरन्तरता दिन हामीलाई थप रकमको आवश्यकता छ।
