My 7-year-old son Rajveer is fighting a condition I had never even heard of before, Leukoencephalopathy with respiratory failure. Until a few months ago, Rajveer was a cheerful little boy whose world revolved around school, games, and endless questions. Today, he lies in a hospital bed surrounded by machines, after being admitted to the PICU and put on ventilator support because he could no longer breathe properly on his own. Watching your child struggle for every breath is a pain no parent can ever prepare for. Every day brings new challenges, with doctors closely monitoring him, providing intensive neurological care, respiratory support, and even discussing an emergency tracheostomy if his condition worsens.

As a mother, all I want is to see my son smile the way he used to. The doctors have told us that Rajveer will need continued hospitalisation, intensive treatment, and rehabilitation therapies to give him the best chance at recovery.

एक माँ के तौर पर, मैं बस यही चाहती हूँ कि मेरा बेटा पहले की तरह मुस्कुराए। डॉक्टरों ने हमें बताया है कि राजवीर को ठीक होने का सबसे अच्छा मौका देने के लिए लगातार अस्पताल में भर्ती रहने, गहन इलाज और रिहैबिलिटेशन थेरेपी की ज़रूरत होगी।

आगे का रास्ता अनिश्चित है, लेकिन मैं हार मानने को तैयार नहीं हूँ। मैं उस दिन का सपना देखती हूँ जब वह वापस अपनी क्लास में जा सकेगा, बिना ट्यूब और मशीनों के अपने दोस्तों के साथ खेल सकेगा, और वह बेफिक्र बचपन जी सकेगा जिसका हर बच्चे को हक है। अभी तो वह सपना बहुत दूर लगता है, लेकिन यही उम्मीद हमारे परिवार को सबसे मुश्किल दिनों में भी आगे बढ़ने की हिम्मत देती है।
