Save Baby Moksha: Life-Saving SMA Gene Therapy Needed
Patient Information:
My name is Bharath Kumar D M, and I am raising funds for my precious precious son, Moksha, who has been diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type 1, a rare and life-threatening genetic condition. Moksha is an innocent child with her entire life ahead of him, yet every day is a battle for survival. As parents, watching our baby struggle with basic movements and breathing has been unimaginably painful.
Cause and Treatment Information:
SMA Type 1 is a severe neuromuscular disorder that weakens muscles and affects vital functions like breathing and swallowing. Doctors have advised Zolgensma (onasemnogene abeparvovec-xioi), a one-time gene therapy that can stop the progression of the disease and give Layla a chance at a normal life. She is currently under medical care at Cloudnine Hospital, Bengaluru, where specialists are closely monitoring her condition.
Treatment Costing:
While we have already spent some amount on initial tests and supportive care, the cost of Zolgensma treatment is ₹16,00,00,000, which is far beyond our financial capacity. Despite exploring every possible option, arranging such a massive amount on our own is impossible.
How You Can Help:
We humbly request support from kind-hearted people. Every contribution—big or small—brings us closer to saving Moksha’s life. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this appeal can also make a huge difference.
Father’s Appeal:
As Moksha’s father, it breaks my heart to ask for help, but my child’s life depends on it. Your kindness can give my daughter a future.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your prayers, support, and generosity.

The funds are currently being raised for the gene therapy treatment Zolgensma. However, the family may opt for an alternative treatment that is more cost-effective.
The goal amount of the campaign may be higher than the attached estimates to address and aid the post-hospitalization expenses/contingencies including but not limited to prolonged medication, diagnostics, rehabilitation therapies, and follow-up doctor visits/consultations which vary from disease to disease.
