My father, Leonard Vijayan Peter, has always been the strongest person I knew. Watching him struggle to walk even a few yards without gasping for breath is something I never imagined. In 2020, he was diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy after his heart muscles became severely weakened. Since then, life has changed completely. He can no longer sleep peacefully because he struggles to breathe, and his abdomen and ankles keep swelling due to fluid buildup.

Every day revolves around medicines, doctor visits, and hoping they can keep his heart going a little longer. ಈ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಸಹ, ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ನೋವಿನ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಅವರು ಮತ್ತೆ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಲು, ನನ್ನ ತಾಯಿಯನ್ನು ಬೆಂಬಲಿಸಲು, ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಮತ್ತು ಈ ಕಷ್ಟದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಪಕ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗೂ ಹೇಗಾದರೂ ಮರುಪಾವತಿ ಮಾಡಲು ಅವರು ಉತ್ತಮಗೊಳ್ಳುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆ ಭರವಸೆಯೇ ಅವರನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿದಿನ ಹೋರಾಡುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಅವರ ಮಗನಾಗಿ, ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ಆರೋಗ್ಯವಾಗಿರುವುದನ್ನು ನೋಡುವುದು ಮಾತ್ರ ನನಗೆ ಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ. ಸರಿಯಾದ ಹೃದಯವು ಸಮಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅರ್ಹವಾದ ಎರಡನೇ ಅವಕಾಶವನ್ನು ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂಬ ಭರವಸೆಯನ್ನು ನಾವು ಹಿಡಿದಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ.

ಅವರ ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಬಿಲ್‌ಗಳ ವೆಚ್ಚವು ಲಕ್ಷಗಟ್ಟಲೆ ತಲುಪಿದೆ. ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಗೆ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿರುವ ಹಣವನ್ನು ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸಲು ನಾನು ಮತ್ತು ನನ್ನ ಕುಟುಂಬ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಿದ್ದೇವೆ, ಆದರೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲಗಳು ಖಾಲಿಯಾಗಿವೆ.
