My sister, Divya, has always been the strongest person I know. She worked hard to build her career, cared deeply for everyone, and dreamed of a happy future with her husband. None of us imagined that, at just 26 years old, she would hear the words, "You have blood cancer."
For the past three years, our lives have revolved around hospitals, chemotherapy, scans, and endless uncertainty. Just when we thought we had won, the cancer came back.
Today, at only 29, Divya's cancer has transformed into an aggressive form of lymphoma. Her body is exhausted after years of treatment. She is weak, her immunity is low, and even though she is currently in remission, the doctors have warned us that time is running out. They have told us that CAR T-cell therapy is now her only chance to stop the cancer from returning.
Watching my little sister endure so much pain while still finding the strength to smile has been heartbreaking.
