At just 26, I never thought my life would suddenly revolve around hospital visits, blood tests and transfusions instead of my work and dreams. I was building my career as a software tester when constant fatigue, unexplained bruises and bleeding began taking over my everyday life. 

I was eventually diagnosed with MDS (Myelodysplastic Syndrome) a type of blood cancer that affects my bone marrow and stops it from making enough healthy blood cells, and since then, every day has felt uncertain. I am currently undergoing Azacitidine cycles, with CBPs being done every five days because my blood counts keep dropping. 

My platelets fall so low that I need regular transfusions just to keep my body going. My doctors have told me that a Bone Marrow Transplant needs to be done as soon as possible, with the next 2–3 months being crucial depending on how I respond to the ongoing treatment.

I am trying to stay strong, but there are days when the fear of what lies ahead feels very real. I want to get through this treatment, recover and return to the life I had started building. I want to continue working as a software tester for a few more years and, someday, start my own business so I can support myself and my parents. These may sound like simple dreams, but right now, they are what keep me going. I just need a chance to reach that future.

The cost of my life-saving bone marrow transplant is ₹40 lakh, and my treatment requires continuous medical care, investigations, medicines, hospitalisation, and specialised treatment. So far, approximately ₹ 10 lakh has already been spent on my treatment. सिर्फ़ 26 साल की उम्र में, मैंने कभी नहीं सोचा था कि मेरा जीवन अचानक मेरे काम और सपनों के बजाय अस्पताल के चक्कर लगाने, ब्लड टेस्ट और ट्रांसफ़्यूज़न के इर्द-गिर्द घूमने लगेगा। मैं एक सॉफ़्टवेयर टेस्टर के तौर पर अपना करियर बना रही थी, तभी लगातार थकान, बिना वजह शरीर पर नीले निशान पड़ना और ब्लीडिंग जैसी समस्याओं ने मेरी रोज़मर्रा की ज़िंदगी पर असर डालना शुरू कर दिया।

आखिरकार मुझे MDS (मायलो-डिस्प्लास्टिक सिंड्रोम) का पता चला, जो एक तरह का ब्लड कैंसर है। यह मेरे बोन मैरो को प्रभावित करता है और उसे पर्याप्त मात्रा में स्वस्थ ब्लड सेल्स बनाने से रोकता है। तब से, हर दिन अनिश्चितता भरा रहा है। अभी मेरा अज़ासिटिडाइन (Azacitidine) ट्रीटमेंट चल रहा है और हर पाँच दिन में CBP टेस्ट हो रहा है क्योंकि मेरा ब्लड काउंट लगातार गिर रहा है।

मेरे प्लेटलेट्स इतने कम हो जाते हैं कि शरीर को ठीक से काम करने के लिए मुझे रेगुलर ट्रांसफ़्यूज़न की ज़रूरत पड़ती है। डॉक्टरों ने कहा है कि जल्द से जल्द बोन मैरो ट्रांसप्लांट करवाना होगा। अगले 2-3 महीने बहुत अहम हैं, क्योंकि यह इस बात पर निर्भर करेगा कि मैं चल रहे इलाज पर कैसी प्रतिक्रिया देती हूँ।

मैं मज़बूत बने रहने की कोशिश कर रही हूँ, लेकिन कुछ दिन ऐसे भी होते हैं जब भविष्य का डर बहुत असली लगने लगता है। मैं इस इलाज से गुज़रकर ठीक होना चाहती हूँ और उस ज़िंदगी में वापस लौटना चाहती हूँ जिसे मैंने बनाना शुरू किया था। मैं कुछ और साल सॉफ़्टवेयर टेस्टर के तौर पर काम करना चाहती हूँ और किसी दिन अपना बिज़नेस शुरू करना चाहती हूँ ताकि मैं खुद को और अपने माता-पिता को सहारा दे सकूँ। ये सुनने में भले ही साधारण सपने लगें, लेकिन अभी यही चीज़ें मुझे हिम्मत देती हैं। मुझे बस उस भविष्य तक पहुँचने का एक मौका चाहिए।

मेरी जान बचाने वाले बोन मैरो ट्रांसप्लांट का खर्च ₹40 लाख है और मेरे इलाज के लिए लगातार मेडिकल देखभाल, जाँच, दवाइयाँ, अस्पताल में भर्ती होने और खास इलाज की ज़रूरत है। अब तक मेरे इलाज पर लगभग ₹10 लाख खर्च हो चुके हैं। मैंने और मेरे परिवार ने अपनी बचत का इस्तेमाल किया है और हर मुमकिन ज़रीये से पैसे जुटाए हैं ताकि मुझे ज़रूरी देखभाल मिलती रहे।
