At 56, my husband, Jaidev, was working as a General Manager in a private company and taking care of our family. He was our strength and support system, our provider, and the person we all depended on.

But everything changed in February when he was diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease and Chronic Kidney Disease.

Since then, his life has revolved around hospitals and treatments. He now needs dialysis twice every week to survive. Because of his weak immune system, he developed a serious infection in May, leaving him extremely weak.

Recently, his condition became more difficult when doctors found pus in his liver. He had to undergo a procedure to drain it out. Over the last few months, repeated hospitalisations have affected his health and have exhausted our family’s savings.

We live in a rented apartment with our two daughters and my father-in-law. Jaidev was one of our main earning members, but because of the disease, he has not been able to return to work for months.

We have already spent more than ₹20 lakhs on his treatment. The dialysis expenses continue, and doctors have also advised another surgery for his dialysis port, which will cost nearly ₹1 lakh.

I want to see my husband healthy again. I want him to return home, live a normal life, and see our younger daughter become independent.
