A year ago, our lives changed in a way I never imagined. My 14-year-old daughter, Jackline, was diagnosed with Dilated Cardiomyopathy, a severe heart disease that has slowly taken away the childhood she deserved. Every day, I watch her struggle to do the simplest things. She gets tired within minutes, fights for every breath, coughs constantly, and feels too weak to even sit up for long. When the doctors told us that her heart is working at only 10%, I could not believe that such a small heart had already endured so much. Because of her worsening condition, she had to leave school while studying in the 7th Standard. As her mother, nothing hurts more than watching her classmates move ahead while my daughter waits for another hospital visit instead of another school day.
My husband works as a driver and does everything he can to keep our family going, but a heart transplant is far beyond what we can ever afford. The doctors have made it clear that this is Jackline's only chance to survive, and the surgery must happen as soon as a suitable donor heart becomes available. Every day feels like we are racing against time.

ಒಂದು ವರ್ಷದ ಹಿಂದೆ, ನಮ್ಮ ಜೀವನ ನಾನು ಊಹಿಸದ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬದಲಾಯಿತು. ನನ್ನ 14 ವರ್ಷದ ಮಗಳು ಜಾಕ್ಲೈನ್ಗೆ ಡಿಲೇಟೆಡ್ ಕಾರ್ಡಿಯೊಮಯೋಪತಿ ಇರುವುದು ಪತ್ತೆಯಾಯಿತು, ಇದು ತೀವ್ರವಾದ ಹೃದಯ ಕಾಯಿಲೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಅದು ಅವಳಿಗೆ ಅರ್ಹವಾದ ಬಾಲ್ಯವನ್ನು ನಿಧಾನವಾಗಿ ಕಸಿದುಕೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಪ್ರತಿದಿನ, ಅವಳು ಸರಳವಾದ ಕೆಲಸಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲು ಹೆಣಗಾಡುವುದನ್ನು ನಾನು ನೋಡುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಅವಳು ನಿಮಿಷಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ದಣಿದಿದ್ದಾಳೆ, ಪ್ರತಿ ಉಸಿರಿಗೂ ಹೋರಾಡುತ್ತಾಳೆ, ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ಕೆಮ್ಮುತ್ತಾಳೆ ಮತ್ತು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಹೊತ್ತು ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಸಹ ತುಂಬಾ ದುರ್ಬಲಳಾಗಿದ್ದಾಳೆ. ಅವಳ ಹೃದಯವು ಕೇವಲ 10% ರಷ್ಟು ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ವೈದ್ಯರು ನಮಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದಾಗ, ಇಷ್ಟು ಸಣ್ಣ ಹೃದಯವು ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಇಷ್ಟೊಂದು ಸಹಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದೆ ಎಂದು ನಾನು ನಂಬಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವಳ ಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಹದಗೆಟ್ಟ ಕಾರಣ, ಅವಳು 7 ನೇ ತರಗತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಓದುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಶಾಲೆಯನ್ನು ಬಿಡಬೇಕಾಯಿತು. ಅವಳ ತಾಯಿಯಾಗಿ, ನನ್ನ ಮಗಳು ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಶಾಲಾ ದಿನದ ಬದಲು ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆ ಭೇಟಿಗಾಗಿ ಕಾಯುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಅವಳ ಸಹಪಾಠಿಗಳು ಮುಂದೆ ಸಾಗುವುದನ್ನು ನೋಡುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ನೋವು ಇನ್ನೊಂದಿಲ್ಲ.
ನನ್ನ ಪತಿ ಚಾಲಕನಾಗಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ ಮತ್ತು ನಮ್ಮ ಕುಟುಂಬವನ್ನು ಮುಂದುವರಿಸಲು ತನ್ನಿಂದ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾದಷ್ಟು ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಆದರೆ ಹೃದಯ ಕಸಿ ನಾವು ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಭರಿಸಲಾಗದಷ್ಟು ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಇದು ಜಾಕ್ಲೈನ್ಗೆ ಬದುಕುಳಿಯುವ ಏಕೈಕ ಅವಕಾಶ ಎಂದು ವೈದ್ಯರು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸೂಕ್ತವಾದ ದಾನಿ ಹೃದಯ ಲಭ್ಯವಾದ ತಕ್ಷಣ ಶಸ್ತ್ರಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ನಡೆಯಬೇಕು. ಪ್ರತಿದಿನ ನಾವು ಸಮಯದ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಓಡುತ್ತಿರುವಂತೆ ಭಾಸವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
ದಯವಿಟ್ಟು ನನ್ನ ಮಗಳ ಜೀವವನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಿ
ನನ್ನ ಮಗಳು ಮತ್ತೆ ಆರೋಗ್ಯವಾಗಿರುವುದನ್ನು ನೋಡುವುದು, ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ವರದಿಗಳ ಬದಲು ಅವಳು ಶಾಲಾ ಚೀಲವನ್ನು ಹೊತ್ತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದನ್ನು ನೋಡುವುದು, ಅವಳ ಅಧ್ಯಯನಕ್ಕೆ ಮರಳುವುದು, ಉಸಿರು ಬಿಡದೆ ನಗುವುದು ಮತ್ತು ಅವಳು ಆಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ಕನಸು ಕಾಣುವ ಬಲವಾದ, ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರ ಯುವತಿಯಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆಯುವುದು ನನ್ನ ಏಕೈಕ ಕನಸು. ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲದರಿಂದಲೂ ನಾನು ಆ ಭರವಸೆಯನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ.
ಅವಳ ಜೀವ ಉಳಿಸುವ ಹೃದಯ ಕಸಿ ಮತ್ತು ಔಷಧಿಗಳ ವೆಚ್ಚ ಲಕ್ಷಗಳನ್ನು ತಲುಪಿದೆ. ನನ್ನ ಕುಟುಂಬ ಮತ್ತು ನಾನು ನಮ್ಮ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲಗಳನ್ನು ನಮ್ಮ ಮಗಳ ಜೀವವನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಲು ಖರ್ಚು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ, ಆದರೆ ಅದು ಸಾಕಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಜೀವ ಉಳಿಸುವ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯನ್ನು ಮುಂದುವರಿಸಲು ನಮಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಹಣ ಬೇಕು.
