My daughter, Vency Patel, is fighting Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) for the third time, and watching her go through this again has been the most painful experience of my life. This time, the attack has been much more severe. Her entire body has stopped responding; she has no movement, and she is currently dependent on a ventilator to breathe. The doctors advised 8 doses of IVIG, and somehow we managed to complete them all, each costing ₹20k. We held onto hope with every dose, believing we would see some sign of improvement, but sadly, there has been no recovery yet. Every day I stand beside her bed, waiting for her to move a finger, open her eyes, or show any sign that she is fighting her way back to us.

The doctors have told us that recovery from GBS can be very slow, especially in her condition. Once she is off the ventilator, she will need at least three months of intensive physiotherapy to help her regain strength and movement.

ડોક્ટરોએ અમને કહ્યું છે કે GBS માંથી સ્વસ્થતા ખૂબ જ ધીમી હોઈ શકે છે, ખાસ કરીને તેની સ્થિતિમાં. એકવાર તે વેન્ટિલેટરમાંથી બહાર નીકળી જાય, પછી તેને શક્તિ અને હલનચલન પાછી મેળવવા માટે ઓછામાં ઓછા ત્રણ મહિનાની સઘન ફિઝીયોથેરાપીની જરૂર પડશે.
