Just a year and a half ago, my husband, Nikhil and I began a new chapter together. Like every newly married couple, we spent hours talking about our future, our own home and the life we wanted to build together.
We never imagined that those dreams would be put on hold so suddenly…
On 24th June 2026, Nikhil suffered a pontine brain hemorrhage. Overnight, our lives changed completely. He was rushed to the ICU, while I watched him through the window, remaining still.
Today, he has started opening his eyes, that small movement filled me with hope. But the hardest part is that he still doesn't recognize me or his family waiting beside his hospital bed every day. I keep talking to him, hoping that one day he'll look at me and know that I'm his wife, that I am here for him.
The doctors have told us that uninterrupted ICU care is essential for his healing, but we no longer have the means to continue without help.
Nikhil has been the only earning member of our family. He cared for his retired parents, supported our home, and carried every responsibility on his own. But now, he depends on us to fight for him.
Our insurance has been exhausted, and we have already spent over ₹15 lakh on his treatment.
I still believe in the future we dreamed of together. I still believe we'll build our home, welcome our children, and create the life we planned. We can only get there with support from kind people.
