Our family will never forget the 29th of July.

My father, Chhabinath Tripathi, is 57 years old. He has always been a hardworking man who kept moving forward for his family. Even while facing health challenges over the years, he continued working as an insurance agent and doing everything he could for us.

Then, on that fateful day of 29th July, our lives changed…

My father suddenly became unresponsive and could no longer speak. Doctors found that he had suffered a severe stroke affecting the left side of his brain, followed by a large brain haemorrhage.

Since then, everything has become a blur of hospital rooms, machines and uncertainty. He has already undergone a mechanical thrombectomy, followed by major brain surgery to relieve the pressure and remove the clot. 

Today, he remains sedated in the MICU and needs a mechanical ventilator to breathe. Doctors are now planning a tracheostomy, while also treating complications such as fever and infection.

But I keep waiting for one thing…to see my father open his eyes!

He has fought through difficult health problems before, and our family has always seen his strength. We are holding on to that strength now. Our family has exhausted our insurance and savings and taken on debt to continue his treatment. But his care is ongoing, and we cannot stop fighting for him now.

My father has spent his life working for my brother, sister and mother. Today, we are fighting to give him the chance to come back home to us.
